Candle Making in Rapid City: What to Expect at Urban Glow

Looking for something different to do in downtown Rapid City? At Urban Glow Candle Co., you pour your own custom candle from start to finish: pick the vessel, blend the fragrance, and design the label. No experience needed.

How it works
Choose your vessel from our wall of styles, then mix your scent from 60+ clean fragrance oils. Pour your candle with our team close by for tips and pairing ideas. Finally, scan a QR code to design a custom label from your phone (or pick a pre-printed design). We print and place it for you.

Plan for about 1 to 1.5 hours in the studio. Candles need about 2 hours to cool, so stay for a beer or glass of wine, or come back later to pick yours up.

What it costs
Reservations are free. You only pay for the candle you make:
Small (single wick, ~40 hrs): $29.99
Medium (double wick, ~60 hrs): $39.99
Large (double wick, ~75 hrs): $49.99
XL (triple wick, ~90+ hrs): $59.99

Every candle is made with Midwest-grown soy and natural coconut wax: vegan, paraffin-free, and phthalate-free.

Perfect for groups
Date nights, birthdays, bachelorettes, girls' nights, and team outings all work well here. Groups of 10 or more get the whole studio for 2 hours with no rental fee.
